We acted for the vendors of this beautiful 6-bedroom property in the heart of St John’s Wood, with a south-facing garden and off-street parking for 2 cars. They had been trying to sell it through a local agent for 6 months. There had been very few viewings and only 2 offers at £3.5m, and they were very frustrated.
Kim went to see the house and quickly understood what could be done to show this property in a far more favourable light. Blackman Investments then advised them to allow us to make the following changes and provided a budget for the works:

Redecorate the walls in the hallway (which were yellow) in jasmine white

Replace the old brown leather sofas and armchairs and paintings in the reception with beautiful furniture and fresh artwork.

Declutter the garden, jet wash the patio and install beautiful outdoor furniture

Stage all of the bedrooms with beautiful furniture, lamps and new bedding, cushions etc

Transform the gym on the Ground Floor into a charming study with sofa bed and bookshelves
Outcome: Despite the difficult market prior to the November 2025 budget, Blackman Investments achieved a sale of £3,800,000.
We also received an offer at £3.95m from another buyer, but the vendors decided to stick with the original buyers.
Having spent a total of £22,000 on all the works, the vendors received £300,000 more than any prior offer and in a far more difficult market. Our clients were absolutely delighted with the outcome.
